Assisted Dying in England and Wales: A Historic Step Forward for End-of-Life Choices
On Friday, 29th November, Parliament took a historic step as the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill passed its second reading, with 330 MPs voting in favor and 275 against. This moves the debate on assisted dying further than ever before, as the Bill now heads to the Committee Stage for further scrutiny.
The discussion in Parliament was deeply respectful, with MPs sharing heartfelt perspectives in a free vote. Regardless of personal views, this vote has sparked an important national conversation about choice, dignity, and end-of-life care.
